Windows Server 2003 R2 Schema Updates

I was asked which components extended the schema with Windows Server 2003 R2 I always miss a small detail so below is a table explaining which components extend the AD schema for Windows Server 2003 R2:

 

DFS Replication

• Upgrade the domain controller with the schema master with R2 schema update.
• Can be installed on any Windows Server 2003 R2 server computer.

 

Identity Management for UNIX

• Upgrade the domain controller with the schema master with R2 schema update.
• Must be installed directly on a Windows Server 2003 R2 domain controller

 

Print Management Console

• Upgrade the domain controller with the schema master with R2 schema update.
• Can be installed on any Windows Server 2003 R2 server computer.
