For those who weren’t following me on Twitter (or Facebook or whatever), today I received an important mail:

Dear Dave Stork,
Congratulations! We are pleased to present you with the 2014 Microsoft® MVP Award! This award is given to exceptional technical community leaders who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with others. We appreciate your outstanding contributions in Exchange Server technical communities during the past year.

After checking headers for spoofing etc. (hey! It’s my expertise after all Winking smile ), I was honored, overjoyed, flabbergasted, excited, inspired, humbled, motivated and a lot of other emotions at the same time.

It’s a welcome recognition of my endeavors (not only this blog) which I do for my own enjoyment, but also for others such as peers, coworkers and the community as a whole. I intend to continue my current efforts and I am excited at any new opportunities in the future.

But I probably wouldn't have reached this point, if it wasn’t for a whole lot of people. And of course I want to take this opportunity to thank them (hope I don’t forget anyone): Sander Berkouwer (coworker in crime) for getting me to start blogging, my employer OGD for giving me a lot of freedom and opportunities, my coworkers with all their suggestions and questions, the UC Architects gang for all those interesting discussion, all who sent me mails with questions, and, of course, my blog/Twitter/LinkedIn/Facebook readers/followers.

And last but certainly not the least: my wife Valesca. Thanks for putting up with me. Winking smile
