NGN Windows Server 2008 R2 Day

Reading Time: 2 minutes

ngn On Wednesday October 13, 2010 the Dutch Networking User Group (NGN) organizes a day filled with sessions on Windows Server 2008 R2. Of course, (being down-to-earth Dutch guys) they call the event the Windows Server 2008 R2 day.

I’m proud to be selected as one of the four speakers.
I’ll be speaking on Active Directory, my favorite subject.

The event, which will be held in de Reehorst in Ede, the Netherlands features the following Dutch-spoken sessions:

09:00 – 10:25

Introduction

Tony Krijnen and Daniel van Soest (both Microsoft Netherlands) will kick off the day with an interactive session on the life of a Windows Server Admin (and how it changes for the better when you switch to Windows Server 2008 R2). Following, MDT will be shown for free Windows Server 2008 R2 deployment in your environment.

Speakers: Tony Krijnen, Daniel van Soest, Erwin Derksen
10:50 – 12:15

Centralized Management

Active Directory is the cornerstone of every Microsoft environment. Windows Server 2008 R2 offers a bunch of new Active Directory features. With the new Group Policies you can now manage your workstations more effectively. Group Policy Preferences and PowerShell together further enrich this experience.

Speakers: Sander Berkouwer, Raymond Comvalius
13:15 – 14:40

Virtualization

Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 now offers more possibilities to build the dynamic datacenter with advanced Hyper-V functionality. Remote Desktop Services (RDS) has also been overhauled and might even make Citrix obsolete in your environment.

Speakers: Jeff Wouters, Erwin Derksen
15:05 – 16:30

Anywhere Secure Access

With Windows Server 2008 R2, IPsec, Network Access Protection (NAP) and DirectAccess, employees can work from any place they’d like in a secure manner. Join this session, to see how to build and troubleshoot such an environment.

Speakers: Jeff Wouters, Raymond Comvalius
16:30 – 17:30

Q&A with all speakers

Tickets are available through the event page.

Tip!
If you’re not a member of the Dutch Networking User Group (NGN), but want to benefit from the lower member fare for this event (€ 129 instead of € 299) , send me a message and I’ll see what I can do…
