Speaking engagements for April

Reading Time: 2 minutes

While March 2011 was an exhilarating month with some fun speaking engagements, April 2011 is also shaping up to become a month where I won’t be visiting customers much.

Since it seems Microsoft is not planning to (pre)-release any big platform products this month, I think it’s not going to be a big problem to enjoy some speaking engagements and gather some feedback…

TechNet_Live 2011, is the primary IT Pro event for 2011 from Microsoft Netherlands.

Together with Microsoft BeLux, Microsoft Netherlands is inviting top speakers like John Craddock, Aaron Margosis, Don Jones, Jeremy Moskowitz, Marcus Murray and Scott Schnoll. Also, local speakers like Alex de Jong, Maarten Goet and Ruben Spruijt will deliver sessions.

While TechNet Live 2011 is not, technically speaking, a speaking engagement (pun intended) for me, I thought it would be nice to mention that I will be present at the ‘Ask the Expert’ booth at the Windows Server and Security desk.

Both TechNet_Live and GeekNight are part of the Dutch TechDays. The DevDays are another part of the Dutch ‘Week of Tech’. TechNet_Live is aimed at IT Pros and the DevDays are aimed at (you’ve guessed it…) Developers. GeekNight is not scoped like that. This event features new technologies and sessions covering both IT Pro and Developers stuff.

Together with Marien de Gelder, the lead developer at our employer, I will be delivering a 45-minute session on the limitless possibilities with Microsoft Kinect. In our session, we will be exporing ‘running applications’, ‘killing services’, ‘booting servers’ and other phrases system administrators use just about every day. Through live demos it is our goal to show what the Kinect device offers to developers to create fantastic solutions and system administrators to get out of their chairs to perform daily tasks. Attending means you might be one of the lucky few, picked from the audience, to go wild on stage!
