Upcoming Speaking Engagements

Reading Time: 3 minutes

So far May hasn’t much of a speaking month for me. It allowed me to regain some peace and quiet and allowed me to rethink the messages, appearance and jokes in some of the sessions I delivered earlier this year.

Also, I’ve been ramping up two nice speaking sessions in the next two weeks, that I’d like to share with you:

OGD BINAIR

PSV Stadium, Eindhoven, Netherlands

More information

My employer frequently organizes days for customers to get the latest news on our company and get up to speed with the latest trends in IT. We use the BINAIR brand for these events. May 27 marks the start of the 2011 BINAIR season.

When our leadership saw the video of the session Marien and I presented at the Microsoft GeekNight, they invited us to perform the same session for the BINAIR events this year. The video below shows the highlights of our session at the GeekNight:

Although Developers and IT Pros are a different crowd than Business and Technical Decision Makers (BDMs and TDMs), we’re still trying to spark innovation. As a bonus we have the last session at the events, which allows us to ridicule the previous speakers. Knipogende emoticon

NGN Apple iPad Day

Postillion Hotel, Bunnik, Netherlands

More information

On June 1, 2011 I’ll be speaking on the Apple iPad Day, organized by Apple, Citrix and the Dutch Networking User Group. This event featured on the Apple Netherlands Hot News page.

During this day, several speakers will provide inspiration, information and guidance on the impact of Apples iPad on managing and integrating the device and delivering applications to it. Bram Alderman (Apple) provides the keynote and a management overview session, Dae Punt shows the out-of-the-box experience and the possibilities of jailbreaking, Tom Kronenburg tells us about possible business cases with the iPad. Alex Warmerdam shows solutions for mobile device management and Martijn Bosschaart (Citrix) explains how to deliver Windows-based apps to iPads.

My session evolves around getting e-mail to iPad users and managing iPads with ActiveSync policies. Of course, I will also share the announcement Microsoft did for iOS management in the upcoming version of System Center Configuration Manager.

Working with the Dutch Networking User Group (Netwerk Gebruikersgroep Nederland, NGN) has been an honor in the past year. We’ve achieved a lot and have made plans to go even further. More on that, soon!
