Speaking at Ngi-NGNs Windows 10 event

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Throughout the Netherlands, several organizations are hosting events to help people explore Windows 10, its new features and their (possible) benefits. My former employer was one of the first organizations doing so, but the Dutch IT Professionals Platform (Ngi-NGN) is also hosting an event.

About this event

NGi-NGNs Windows 10 event will be hosted on Monday September 28, 2015 at the Postillion Hotel in Bunnik, the Netherlands. Sessions will run from 9 AM to 5 PM and drinks will be available afterwards.

My buddy Raymond Comvalius acts as the track owner, so the speaker line-up features most of our community friends.

An amazing speaker line-up

After the general intro, I will be hosting a 40-minute technical session on the Azure Active Directory Join functionality in Windows 10.

In the past year many people have asked me “Azure Active Directory sounds super cool, but I think I could only benefit from it when I join my devices to it. How do I do that?”. Windows 10 is the first Operating System to allow you to join Azure Active Directory. This join process feels similar to a Windows Server Active Directory domain join, and also shares some characteristics with Workplace Join, but under the hood is very different.

On Windows 10 Azure Active Directory-joined devices, single sign-on (SSO) and centralized management, suddenly, become easy. On the other hand, delegation, granular auditing and granular access are areas of importance that should be looked at.

Directly adjacent to my session, my colleague Ronny de Jong will demonstrate managing and deploying Windows 10 with Intune. This session builds upon my session, and I feel this will present the best learning experience to people in the Netherlands wanting to get acquainted with Windows 10’s cloud integration features.

Of course, Windows HELLO and a plethora of Windows devices is shown off, and Microsoft Netherlands sent Pieter Wigleven to demonstrate Windows 10 new security and identity protection features. Roel van Bueren will dive into the new Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. Erwin Derksen expands on that session with his notes from his deployment of 8000+ devices. Martijn Bellaard delivers the final 45-minute session on the latest security guidance.

To wrap things up, a panel  featuring most of the speakers, answers any questions people might have after these sessions, guaranteeing everyone gains something this day.
