Microsoft is retiring Azure AD Connect v2.x versions 12 months from the date they are superseded by a newer version

Microsoft will begin retiring past versions of Azure AD Connect version 2.x 12 months from the date they are superseded by a newer version. This policy will go into effect on March 15th, 2023, when Microsoft will retire all versions that are superseded by a newer version on March 15th, 2022.

The following Azure AD Connect versions will retire on March 15th, 2023:

  • 2.0.89.0
  • 2.0.88.0
  • 2.0.28.0
  • 2.0.25.1
  • 2.0.10.0
  • 2.0.9.0
  • 2.0.8.0
  • 2.0.3.0

If you are not already using the latest release version of Azure AD Connect, you should upgrade your Azure AD Connect software before that date.

This policy does not change the retirement of all Azure AD Connect 1.x versions on August 31st, 2022, which is due to the retirement of their SQL Server 2012 and Azure AD Authentication Library (ADAL) components.
