On Wednesday May 15, 2024, I’m co-presenting at KNVI’s 'The Flow of Information' event Dutch at the OBA in Amsterdam, the city's Public Library. Fellow speakers Raymond Comvalius, Jeff Wouters, Ellen Loopstra and Erwin Derksen are my co-presenters for this day around information management and information optimization.

The Dutch Professional Association of Information and IT Professionals (KNVI) is an independent platform for sharing professional knowledge and expanding the personal networks of ICT Pros, information professionals, students and employers who want to keep their employees up to date.

About the Information Flow event

Today, information is the lifeblood of businesses – it is crucial for information professionals to broaden their horizons and view their information services from a broader perspective. With this in mind, KNVI organizes this "The Flow of Information" event. It provides professionals deepening their knowledge and gaining new insights in the field of information management and optimization.

This event brings together leading experts and professionals active in various areas of information management. It provides a platform for sharing best practices, exploring emerging trends and stimulating discussions about the challenges and opportunities within the field.

What would it be like if technologies and strategies merged seamlessly into a secure, efficient and user-friendly information environment?

The program

After a short introduction, starting at 10 AM, my fellow-IT Bro Raymond Comvalius kicks off the event with a session on optimizing managing endpoints in your organization. Then, fellow-MCT Jeff Wouters presents his view on automating managing infrastructure components. After a 30-minute break, I talk about Identity. Ellen Loopstra picks up the attendees from lunch and provides tips on leadership and change management. Erwin Derksen tops off the sessions with a session on getting security on the agenda of your managers. From 3:30 PM onwards, we all interact with the audience in a 30-minute panel session, followed by drinks on KNVI.

KNVI members pay EUR 77 for attending this event. Non-KNVI members pay EUR 150. Subscriptions to KNVI for students are a mere EUR 34,20 per year. Subscriptions for individuals start at EUR 114 per year for members aged 27 and below, for retirees and for unemployed people. Other individual subscriptions set you back EUR 190 per year. Organizational subscriptions are available upon request.
