I'm just catching up with my RSS feeds after few days being off-line (failed power supply may be very troublesome) and I found interesting link at Kim's Cameron blog.
Kim is presenting Microsoft Whitepaper titled The Identity Metasystem: Towards a Privacy-Compliant Solution to the Challenges of Digital Identity which is about Identity Metasystem, InfoCards and how it may influence privacy in the Internet. This whitepaper discuss in general how Identity Metasystem is intended to work, how current implementation in CardSpace works and how it comply with EU requirements when it comes to privacy protection.
Identity Metasystem is proposal made on solid basis of "Laws of Identity" for building identity layer for Internet, which will not depend on single identity store, single identity provider etc.
Those of You who are working with Vista may encountered CardSpace applet in Control Panel which is Microsoft implementation of this idea.
This document is definitely worth reading for anyone who is interested in Identity and Privacy topics.
