Last week, Crayon organized the 7th Nordic Infrastructure Conference (NIC), labeled the Future Edition. Raymond Comvalius and I presented two sessions. In this blogpost I share our pictures and most memorable moments.

On Thursday February 2, Raymond and I were scheduled for the early flight from Amsterdam Schiphol airport to Oslo Gardermoen airport. It meant we had to get out of bed early. It also meant we had front row seats to an amazing view of the moon.

Gardermoen airport was cold and snowy. We had an uneventful, yet delayed, flight due to the snow, that caused limited capacity at the airport. Since this is our fourth visit to Oslo for NIC, we know our way around. We boarded the FlyToGet train to Oslo SentralStasjon and made our way to the Oslo Spektrum in a new record time.

Raymond and I spent Thursday fine tuning our slides and demos. We also sat in some sessions that we found interesting and showed up at Andy Malone’s book signing at the GlassPaper booth. Of course, we also checked out the rooms for our sessions.

For diner, Raymond and I joined Andy Malone, Alexander Nikolic and John Craddock at Brugata Landhandleri, where we enjoyed some delicious lamb shanks.

Friday morning, Raymond and I were scheduled for an 8:30 AM session on Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This session was scheduled in room 8, which was one of the two suspended stages…

We shared the specifics for MFA Server, Azure MFA and Office 365, as well as some real-world tips and tricks. We had a lot of fun!

Our 2PM session focused on Microsoft’s cloud offerings as an alternative to on-premises datacenters, identity and productivity.

At the end of the session, our audience was unanimous in their opinion if the Microsoft Cloud is ready for prime-time productivity.

After our session, we took the train back to Oslo Gardermoen airport, where we enjoyed diner in the airport lounge with Andy and Sami Laiho, before flying back to Amsterdam.

Thank you!

A big ‘Thank You!’ to all NIC attendees, sponsors, speakers and staff for making the past week such an enjoyable experience!
