Preparing for the Exchange 2013 (beta) exams

Reading Time: 3 minutes In the upcoming episode 11 of The UC Architects podcast, we discussed about preparing for the Exchange 2013 exams. As I blogged earlier, the new Microsoft Certified Solutions Master: Messaging certification requires the exams 70-341 and 70-342, next to the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2012 certification. Currently the Exchange 2013 exams are in beta, the Release-to-Manufacturer (RTM) version will be published January 15 2013. Being an beta exam means several things: Booking is as normal, though the code

Well, next to my “normal” job consulting, designing, implementing and troubleshooting Exchange, Office 365 and some other stuff. Next to attending events and such, I also contribute to them. Exchange 2013 and all other Office products RTM bits are now available on TechNet!

Reading Time: < 1 minute Looks like Microsoft itself can’t wait to release the RTM bits of Exchange 2013 and it’s family members, because they are currently available on TechNet. See proof below: Like the RTM announcement this availability is quite a lot sooner than expected, or actually announced. Microsoft itself aimed at half november for TechNet subscribers. Should we think more of this? Nah, let’s just enjoy it. If anything, Microsoft had al lot extra time built-in just in case one of the product

iOS6 and ActiveSync bug fixed in Zarafa/Z-Push

Reading Time: 2 minutes Yesterday Zarafa published a blog post in which they announced their fix for the iOS6 ActiveSync appointment issue. For those who don’t know, Zarafa is an open source Exchange clone (a bit like Zimbra) and uses the open source “plug-in” Z-Push for its server side ActiveSync implementation. Although the work seems solid and commendable, I do have some issues with the post (No, I’m not trying to be mean). Especially when they describe their fix for Exchange (which is not

Exchange Server 2013 certification path visualized

Reading Time: < 1 minute A few days back my pal Cor Reinhard (like me a MEC 2012 veteran ) posted information on how to achieve the new Microsoft Certified Solutions Master: Messaging certification and the issues that currently surround it. As I was planning my own certification path, I decided to visualize this as it can be confusing and not always very clear which requirements are needed for a certain certification title. I’ve decided to make this available for everyone interested in it. At

Windows Phone 8 in pictures – Samsung ATIV S hands-on

Reading Time: 5 minutes During an Windows 8 event (Dutch) organized by the company I work for (OGD ICT Diensten, Dutch) there was also a small exhibit hall. I was responsible for Office 365 and Exchange and even demonstrated the Exchange 2013 Preview, especially the new OWA on an iPad. That’s awesome BTW . But Samsung also had a stand (next to others) and next to the very interesting ATIV tablets, they also had the Windows Phone 8 (WP8) ATIV S! I could even

Reading Time: 3 minutes *20121026 updated 2010 Schema prepped scenario* Last week Microsoft announced the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) status of it’s Office products including Exchange 2013. That’s exciting news! Now can we upgrade already? Well, no not yet. Firstly, the RTM bits will be available mid-november for MSDN/TechNet but also for Volume licensing customers. What is the ‘Outlook App for Exchange’ in Exchange 2013 Preview?

Reading Time: 3 minutes After digging into Exchange 2013 Preview ActiveSync in my previous post, I was making some Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) policies and just playing around. Yeah, I have a bit of a soft spot for ActiveSync Suddenly I noticed something very interesting in the Exchange Admin Center. I’ve made a screenshot: Did you notice it? Maybe a close up? Outlook App for Exchange. Not Outlook Web App. Outlook App for Exchange. It took a while to sink in. During and after writing
